Educational Leadership

In today's rapidly changing learning environments, schools and higher education institutions need administrators capable of collaborative leadership.

The Master of Education in Educational Leadership program focuses on investigating and clarifying the effectiveness of education. This program provides the tools to manage existing programs and to develop new ones. Students may opt to focus on a PK-12 or higher education concentration. Each year, the Principal Fellows program admits a cohort of students from partnering districts. Those students who meet the rigorous standards for admittance into the Principal Fellows cohort receive discounted tuition through the generosity of corporate, nonprofit, and other partners. Fellows also spend year two of the program working in full time, paid administrative intern positions within their home districts. Principal Fellows follow the same certification oriented degree plan as other M.Ed. seeking students, though some deadlines prior to and during the admissions process vary.

The Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership is a research-intensive degree designed to equip graduates to engage in high-quality original scholarship. Students may opt to focus on a PK-12 or higher education concentration.

The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership develops teacher-scholar leaders who make a difference for the common good. Students choose from a PK-12 or higher education focus.

The MBA/Doctor of Education joint program allows you to combine two degrees, giving you an advantage in the classroom and in your career.

What Sets Us Apart

You can study current developments in higher education by studying abroad in Great Britain and Ireland. On-campus discussions provide a framework for comparison of higher education systems, followed by travel abroad to experience the culture and structure of institutions overseas.

°Õ°ä±«â€™s Graduate Assistantship Program provides selected higher education master and doctoral students with a theory-to-practice experience complementing the Higher Education Leadership curriculum.

Our innovative Principal Fellows program works with participating school districts to admit a selective cohort of students. These students receive discounted tuition and spend a year working in full-time paid administrative intern positions in their district.

Career Prospects

Program graduates are ready to establish themselves as teacher-leaders in their respective schools and districts. The Master of Special Education with Educational Diagnostician Certification prepares students to work as master teachers in the field of special education as well as diagnosticians recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
