What is the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foundation Relief Fund?

Administered through Â鶹´«Ã½ Foundation, this fund, originally called the Moira Hearn Memorial Bursary, offers financial assistance to Â鶹´«Ã½ members who are experiencing difficulties. 

The fund aims to provide continuity of membership and support at a time when circumstances might preclude it. Grants from this fund could be used to support membership dues, professional development, or participation in events.

Applications are evaluated by a committee of Â鶹´«Ã½ leaders and are confidential and anonymous — your name will not be revealed to the committee.

Background

Jenn Glynn, CIS CITP, 2020 Â鶹´«Ã½ President and former member of Â鶹´«Ã½'s International Board of Directors, launched the Moira Hearn Memorial Bursary in 2020 to provide financial assistance to Â鶹´«Ã½ members who had lost their jobs, or whose businesses were experiencing extreme financial difficulties due to COVID-19. 

The Bursary was originally offered in honor of Moira Hearn, deceased, whose Â鶹´«Ã½ membership was characterized by an uncommon altruism and concern for others. 

Moira Hearn was — and still is — for many of us, the moral touchstone of professionalism in the world of incentive travel. 

A deeply empathetic and compassionate person, Moira embodied everything that this fund stands for: warmth, understanding, a helping hand, sharing the burden.
