Reconciliation Day I

We celebrated our first-ever Reconciliation Day on April 21, 2021—a day where we as a TCU community came together so we can move forward together.

Contemplation

Spoken word and live musical performances fostered a time of reflection on our past.

Commemoration

We then shared what we presently know after our first year in operation as the Race & Reconciliation Initiative. The full first-year survey report was also released.

Reconciliation Day II

On April 20, 2022, we celebrated our 2nd annual Reconciliation Day. We shared the progress made on campus to-date and on Charley and Kate Thorp, a formerly enslaved couple who were instrumental in TCU’s growth in its earliest days in Thorp Spring, Texas.

Reconciliation Day III

At our third annual Reconciliation Day on April 19, 2023, leaders across campus provided updates to the initial recommendations and shared findings from research into TCU’s transition to integration. We presented four honorees with the Plume Award, an annual honor to recognize individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to TCU’s goal of fostering a campus community that is welcoming for all.
